The 5th Delta Woods and Waters Expo is for those that love to explore the great outdoors – this family event focuses on the amazing natural resources of the Mobile-Tensaw Delta (the 2nd largest river-delta in the U.S.) while promoting responsible outdoor recreation. Experienced outdoorsmen, professionals and enthusiasts give hands-on instruction and demonstrate various skills including fly-tying, casting, kayak and canoe handling, turkey calling, camping, archery, water safety, sporting/retrieving dogs and other activities. Enjoy Dr. John C. Hall’s portrayal of William Bartram, explorer of the Delta in 1775. Learn to identify animal tracks, wildflowers and plants indigenous to the Delta – see raptor birds up close and touch various marine species! The day’s festivities include the Great Bartram Kayak and Canoe Races, pontoon boat rides in the Delta, great food at nominal prices, hiking tours, crafts and many other kid-friendly activities. This fun and educational event is free of admission and enjoyed by the entire family.
The Expo’s mission is to promote responsible and enjoyable outdoor recreational experiences through a fun and educational event.
